It was 11 weeks ago when Ed Cooley earned his very first Big East win – beating Rick Pitino’s Louisville Cardinals by the largest margin of victory ever for the Friars over a nationally ranked team.
It is hard to believe that on January 10th, the Friars crushed Louisville , at the time ranked #14, by a score of 90-59.
The season is now a distant memory for the Friars, while Pitino’s Cards are in the Final Four. Seem a bit surreal?
Cooley is still hard at work, and will host the men’s basketball annual end-of-the-year team banquet on Saturday, April 21 at the Westin Hotel on One West Exchange Street in Providence. The event will begin with a cocktail hour starting at 6:00 p.m. and the dinner following at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50 for adults and $25 for children and can be purchased by calling Susan Gibree in the men’s basketball office at 401-865-2266.
