Junior forward Lee Goldsbrough joins Joe Kayata for an inside interview. Goldsbrough hails from across the pond in New Castle, England where he played soccer for many years. A basketball coach realized the 6’9″ player had a lot of potential and encouraged Goldsbrough to become more serious about the sport. It worked out in his favor as he was recruited by the Friars organization and has made an impact coming off the bench.
Cox recruiting expert Adam Finkelstein discusses the two transfers that Friars head coach Ed Cooley brought in the season. Tyler Harris spent one season at NC State and Carson Desrosiers has two seasons of eligibility left after transferring from Wake Forest. Although neither of these players will get court time this season due to NCAA regulations, both gentlemen will look to make an impact on the Friars in the future.
In a game televised on OSN, Kadeem Batts scored 25 points and Providence narrowly won its second straight game after holding a late lead, beating No. 17 Cincinnati 54-50 Wednesday night. Cincinnati’s But Sean Kilpatrick lost the ball on a backcourt violation with 2 seconds to play and Batts finished the scoring with two free throws.
