Coach Ed Cooley has had to discipline more than one starter this season, and prior to their win over Villanova, the Friars announced that center Sidiki Johnson “has taken a voluntary leave of absence from the team.”
Through the storms big and small during Cooley’s second season as PC head basketball coach, there have been a few pleasant stories – one being the play of “walk-on” Ted Bancroft.
After a standout career at Bishop Stang, Bancroft has become a major contributor to the Friars, averaging almost 20 minutes a game as the Friars deal with injuries to starting guard Vincent Council and freshman Kris Dunn.
In this interview on OSN’s Tip-Off show, we learn that Bancroft was a scratch golfer before turning his energies to basketball.

Everyone in Rhode Island is talking about the "Biggest Little Countdown" now playing on local ON DEMAND.

Starting a walk-on? TB has given the Friars some good minutes, but to compete yearly in this league, PC will need a steady flow of blue chip talent .
