URI fans need some good news? Check out Ram recruit E.C. Matthews

Cox Sports sent a camera crew to Romulus, Michigan to bring our URI Ram fans a look at Rhody recruit E.C. Matthews.

Matthews is a 6-4, 180 lb. point guard who led his Romulus High School to a 22-3 record while earning All State honors.

“We are incredibly excited to add E.C. to our program,” said URI Coach Dan Hurley. “He brings a winner’s mentality and a toughness forged from having played with one of the top high schools in the country and one of the top national AAU programs,” Hurley stated. “His unique size and instincts as a point guard, as well as his skill and ability to score and create offense will be a huge addition. We expect him to be one of the top freshman guards in the country next year.”

E.C. helped lead Romulus High to the Michigan Class A State Championship. He had 37 points in the semi finals to pace the Eagles. He did most of his work in high school playing the 2 and 3 positions. Hopefully he can move smoothly to the point and be a star at URI. He is a humble and very talented young man and I enjoyed watching him throughout his high school career.
