Abu to NC State; Terrell picks Oklahoma State

Two highly sought-after prep basketball talents from New England, Abdul-Malik Abu and Jared Terrell,  lined up the hats of their college finalists and then picked their school.

Abu, intensely recruited by Providence College coach Ed Cooley, will play for North Carolina State.

Terrell, recruited by URI Coach Dan Hurley as well as Cooley, chose Oklahoma State.

Both Abu and Terrell are rated among the top 100 seniors in the country.

Abu, a burly 6-foot-8 forward from Boston, had narrowed his choices to Providence, Florida, North Carolina State and Connecticut.

Terrell, a 220-pound guard from Weymouth, Mass., was considering Rhode Island, PC and Oklahoma State.

Cox Sports Online will post  more of the press conference from the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass., later today. Check in with us later this week, as New England Recruiting Report’s Adam Finkelstein will take questions about PC Friars and URI Rams recruiting progress on our live video chat.
