The top high school athletes from across the state were honored once again at Cox Sports RI Sports Awards at the Rhode Island Convention Center in downtown Providence.
Awards were presented for top athlete in both boys and girls sports for all interscholastic sports. Scott Cordischi and Frank Carpano serves as hosts.
The 2012 Awards will be presented at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in June of next year. This event is open to the public. | Go to the RISA official website
The smallest state in the country has produced some great athletes over the years, each year the Cox Rhode Island Sports Awards honors those with Rhode Island roots who have broken through onto the national scene. Past award winners include Brown University football star and current NFL player Zak DeOssie, and Hendricken standout and MLB star Rocco Baldelli.
