Cox Sports got a glimpse of Providence College recruit Josh Fortune courtesy of our sister station in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Josh Fortune is a 6-foot-5-inch, 180-pound shooting guard attends Kecoughtan High School in Virginia , ranked the 34th best shooting guard in the class, according the ESPN.com and will be attending Providence College next Fall to play for Ed Cooley.
Our friends at FriarBasketball.net gathered this description of the 6’5″ swingman:
“Like many shooters, Fortune can be a streak shooter. He can knock down several in a row, or he can get into a bit of a cold stretch, but his form is perfect. Some might consider him a spot-up shooter, but he’s got a good handle and can create his own looks. He’s very good at shooting off the dribble. Fortune has long arms, so he rarely gets his shot blocked and he’s pretty good at grabbing steals, even if he isn’t the best one-on-one defender.”
“I believe Josh Fortune is an elite shooter,” says Friar Coach Cooley. “He will bring a lot to our squad and he will surprise people next season with his skill. Josh has been coached by one of the top high school coaches in the country. We are fortunate to have Josh joining our program.”
