    Cumberland Boys Hockey: A Season to Remember

    The Cumberland boys hockey team are fresh off winning the division 2 hockey state championship.  It was a season that was simply spectacular.  The team went 19-0 overall during the regular season scoring 95 goals while only allowing 13.  In the playoffs the Clippers lost just 1 game which was in the semi finals to their rival Lincoln.  Varsity Life’s Tim McKone caught up with the team to discuss their impressive championship season.

    The Mount St. Charles hockey team is still celebrating their best-of-three victory over Bishop Hendricken, in the process winning their 44th hockey title in school history. A strong work ethic is the foundation for any player who plays for Mountie head coaches Bill and Dave Belisle. Jake Martin takes it one step further than most, proving that a person can accomplish anything with hard work and determination.

The 2014 boys open basketball tournament is over with the Hendricken Hawks being crowned champions.   The open state tournament has now had 4 different champions since the open format started in 2010-2011.  The Hawks came into the tournament as the 5th overall seed and their toughest game throughout the entire tourney was round 1 against East Greenwich.  The Avengers riding an emotional high pushed the Hawks to the limit losing by just 4 points.  E.G who […]
