    Mount Wins 32nd State Hockey Title

    In a state championship game televised on OSN and streamed over coxsportsonline,  Mount St. Charles took command early,  skating to a 4-0 lead over Bishop Hendricken in the first period. The final score was 5-2  in the third game of their best-of-three state title series at Meehan Auditorium.     Mounties Force a Winner-Take-All Monday Night

    Keith Phaneuf’s goal at 6:59 of a 71/2-minute sudden-death overtime gave the Mounties the 4-3 victory over the Hawks that tied their series at a game apiece. The winner-take-all third game of the series will be streaming LIVE on coxsportsonlie Monday night from 8 at Brown University’s Meehan Auditorium.     Hendricken Rallies to Top Mounties, 5-2; Watch Game 2 Tonight

    Trailing 2-1 with four minutes to play in the game, Bishop Hendricken scored 4 goals (including an open-net in the final minute) to grab a 5-2 victory over Mount St. Charles in the opening game the state championship series at Meehan Auditorium. The second game of the series will be played Saturday at 7pm and again be streaming LIVE on coxsportsonline.com If a third game is necessary, it will be played Monday night at Meehan.

    The State hockey championships are up for grabs at Brown University this weekend. In the finals it’s a classic rivalry between Mount St. Charles and Hendricken. These 2 teams meet for the 19th time in the state finals with Mount owning the title series 15-3.     Mount Senior Suffers Season Ending Injury

    Mount St. Charles senior Kelly O’Neill is a three sport athlete competing in cross country, swimming and lacrosse for the Mounties. Her final season was cut short as she tore her ACL in April. O’Neill remained a part of the team showing her support on the sidelines, at practices and in the huddle.
